“Novia Scotia” is the beachy 2022 tune we all need during this cold winter chill. Lead singer, Jake Koffer, explores the solitary journey driving towards a destination; letting his past mistakes leave him where he began. He partners with Josef Kuhn on the drums for the perfect little pop pairing. The driving guitars come in at the end like a wave, allowing the past to come up, wash away, and create a clean slate.
While Canopyframe has already garnered some serious attention with single, Calming Sophia, - which has been on repeat since I found it- I am very excited to see where this release takes the project.
So So, the newly turned three-piece indie rock band, released mellow EP Impermanence. The EP is easy listening with a driving backbone and pulsing heartbeat led by Owen Mota’s vocals. Influenced by the departure of friend and former bandmate Frankie to new adventures, the newfound three-piece find their center with Impermanence.
Connecticut emo band, WAS AND WHEN, released Feast Your Eyes this past Friday. This EP salutes the droney and ethereal moods from the singles of “Hang in the Balance” and “Heavy Heart”(my personal favorite) while adding a pop flare. With a driving momentum and memorable hooks, Held allows his voice to be more present and soar over the tracks capturing the raw, real passion of the lyrics.
The indie-rock project, Sprig, released “What Life Would Be Like” last week. The Wilmington, NC band, recently rebranded from Rosemary, captures the essence of this niche genre with trance-like songs that immediately have your head nodding back and forth and your hand pressing the replay button.
West Hartford based band, Cassie’s Crutch, released 10 song DEBUT album on February 12th. The jam band which was founded at The University of Hartford hones in on that classic emo sound with a new twist.
Haley Faye, who has been writing and releasing music since 2019, recently dropped her pop single, “Fight or Flight” to all streaming services on February 4th. From a simple song she wrote in songwriting class to a pop single showing up on Spotify playlists, checkout Haley Faye now.
