I am not SoSo about this epic record
So So, a four-piece newly turned three-piece, mellow indie rock band hailing from “down under Boston” released EP Impermanence this past July. (Yes, I am two months late, but the listening party is still happening, so come on down). The relaxed album is led by the vocals of Owen Mota who’s unique and addicting voice absolutely cuts thru. Mota, paired with Shane Jones on drums and Andy Travaline on Bass/vox is truly an amazing pairing. While the album is very chill in itself, it has a driving backbone and pulsing heartbeat that shines through; especially on Anywhere. Influenced by the departure of friend and former bandmate Frankie to new adventures, the newfound three-piece found their center with Impermanence.

inertia
guitar intro (i am an absolute sucker for a good picky guitar intro)
this song, simply put, is good. great songwriting, catchy lyrics, driving guitar line, and a full band who completely understands how to work with eachother. the push and pull of dynamics in this song is also well sculpted.
bass line at 3:08
liminal
harmonies:28 sec (listen now & thank me later)
anywhere
build at 2:08 musically & vocally. (this is what driving down an open road with the windows down is what is all about. this build is hype and beautiful and breaks out into a full final chorus)

Impermanence was recorded at Railroad Park Recording Company with the help of Kyle Therrien and Clinton Lisboa, (close friends and engineers of the band). If you like their work, check out their bands Karis Owen, War Games, Dream Job.
